Cleaning & Care

Regular Cleaning

Wipe your marble or travertine furniture with a soft, damp cloth daily or as needed to remove dust and debris.

Use Coasters & Placemats

Always use coasters for drinks and placemats for plates to prevent water rings, heat marks, and scratches.

Seal Regularly

Seal natural stone every 6–12 months with Lithofin Stain Stop to protect against stains and spills.

Do's

Always use coasters for drinks and placemats for plates to prevent water rings, heat marks, and scratches.

Clean the stone with a gentle, non-abrasive, pH-neutral cleaner. For general cleaning, use warm water and a mild detergent specifically formulated for natural stone. Avoid harsh chemicals that may damage the surface.

Use a soft microfiber cloth to dust your furniture regularly. Dust particles can cause minor scratches if allowed to accumulate.

Applying a natural marble wax can provide an extra layer of protection against stains and give the stone a slight sheen.

Use protective pads or felt under heavy objects to avoid scratching or damaging the surface.

Reseal your marble or travertine surface every 6-12 months to maintain its protection against stains and liquids.

Don'ts

Avoid using vinegar, lemon, bleach, ammonia, or other acidic or abrasive cleaners. These can etch or dull the stone's surface and cause permanent damage.

Scrubbers, steel wool, or rough sponges can scratch and wear down the finish of your stone. Always use soft cloths or non-abrasive sponges.

Always use trivets or hot pads under hot dishes, pans, or mugs. Direct heat can cause discoloration or damage the finish over time.

Avoid furniture waxes, polish sprays, or wood cleaners on marble or travertine. These products often contain chemicals that can harm the stone.

Dragging heavy items across the stone surface can cause scratches or chips. Always lift items when moving them and add felt pads to the bottom of decorative items.

Excess water can be absorbed into the stone, especially in travertine, leading to potential staining or damage. Wipe up any standing water promptly.

Each piece is designed to be used and enjoyed so overtime they will inevitably develop small marks and minor stains but we believe that it contributes to the piece’s unique character and story.

With the right care and attention, your marble and travertine furniture can maintain its beauty for many years to come.
